Fine Dining Comfort Food at Top of the Ritz this winter

Top of The Ritz has created a new winter Comfort Dining Menu, a warming, refined and simply delicious offering, ideal for a cold Cape Town night.

With a new head chef at the helm, Top of the Ritz in Sea Point – Cape Town’s revolving restaurant with spectacular views – went about conceptualising a new three-course menu. Their new Head Chef, 28-year-old Pretoria-born Warwick King, wanted to craft dishes that would impress visually while still being wholesome with hearty flavours; a meal guests would relish eating on a winter evening.

The new three-course COMFORT DINING MENU starts with a glass of mulled wine and a warm canape on arrival. A beautifully, delicate caramelised cauliflower soup or smoked and poached hake serves as a starter. For mains, there is a choice of braised oxtail pie or Cape Malay Ballantine or baked tomato risotto. A traditional Malva pudding ends off the refined menu, served with apricot puree and Amarula ice cream.

Expect fine wine and the Ritz customary attentive service. The three-course menu comes to R450 per person.

The new menu will be served three times a week on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening at either 6:30 pm or 8:00pm. With the existing seven-course set menu being served Thursday, Friday and Saturday as normal, and they are closed on Sundays.

Escape the winter chill and enjoy elegant comfort food while taking in the incredible panoramic views of the Atlantic Seaboard.
