Seasonal Sharing at EB Social Kitchen & Bar

Warm flavours inspired by the Mediterranean

Warm up this season with his newest Chef’s Selection sharing menu – a feast of comfort food inspired by the warm waters of the Mediterranean.

Winter days are here, and while most South Africans head for hibernation to avoid the unfamiliar cold, Chef Russell Armstrong from Exclusive Books’ Social Kitchen & Bar in Hyde Park is dangling a Mediterranean-inspired carrot to entice you to leave the house with his Chef’s Selection for the season.

The Chef’s Selection, priced at R420 for a five-course lunch menu or R580 for a seven-course dinner menu, is designed for two people. It serves up a mouth-watering selection of share-worthy plates. Fresh, simple dishes bursting with vibrant colour, texture and palate-pleasing flavours. This winter, hungry visitors to Social Kitchen & Bar can expect to start with falafels, turmeric cauliflower with artichokes, sultanas, moghrabieh (Israeli couscous); followed by Fishmonger’s choice with chermoula (Algerian pesto), smoked confit tomatoes and chickpeas; or lamb shank with couscous and spiced bean stew. For something sweet, try the Lebanese milk pudding with rosewater and sesame dentelle, or the ivory chocolate and halva parfait.
