Wine & Dine Evening at Twelve Apostles with Morgenster

The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa’s monthly Food & Wine Pairing series sees Azure Restaurant team up with Morgenster Wine & Olive Estate this month for a gourmet dinner on Friday 29 May 2015. Guests can look forward to a special four-course menu prepared by Executive Chef Christo Pretorius, paired with a selection of Morgenster wines presented by winemaker Henry Kotze.

Based in Somerset West and dating back to 1711, Morgenster produces internationally acclaimed Bordeaux-style wines, with four Bordeaux cultivars grown on the Estate: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The Estate’s philosophy is to release its red Bordeaux-style blends only when they have developed and aged to potential, and the cellar therefore houses highly awarded earlier vintages under its Morgenster and Lourens River Valley labels.

Morgenster also has 50ha of olive groves, where a variety of cultivars are grown for the production of extra virgin olive oil and table olives. Morgenster’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil is regularly acknowledged by important international judging panels, with the authoritative annual Flos Olei Guide to the World’s Best Olive Oils rating Morgenster as being among the world’s top oils for its consistent excellence over the past years.
