The Revolution

Stella and Roxanne started “The Revolution” in September 2014 and after just a few months this little gem has grown, with an increasing number of Banters visiting for breakfast and lunch.

The owners decided to go the coffee shop route and include a Banting menu as part of their standard offering. This after doing a lot of research into Tim Noakes and his Revolutionary approach to diet that follows that of William Banting from the 1800’s, especially on Disease prevention and that disease can be cured through  diet. The menu is diverse, with creative Banting options indicated clearly by using their defined spoon and fork logo.

In addition to the Banting menu offerings that include a Butternut Cottage Pie and Revolution Burger amongst others. There are is the standard fare for those who are still Banting scared, such as the usual Business Breakfasts and Chicken Schnitzels or Stir Fry. A favourite, the All in One breakfast includes two eggs poached perfectly in a bacon, tomato and onion sauce and topped with mozzarella.

In addition to the restaurant, they have a small Deli and although the choices are still limited, it includes many banting items. They serve coffee from Terbodore Coffee Roasters. Their beans are sourced from Ethiopia and Indonesia and roasted in the Natal Midlands and in the Cape on Goederust Farm in LA Motte, Franschoek. The intention is to extend this selection to include a range of ready prepared Banting meals.
