The Chef’s Studio turns Mother’s Day into a ‘Cook with Mum’ Lunch Experience

The Chef’s Studio is rethinking the usual Mother’s Day plan with an experience that puts everyone in the kitchen together.

On Sunday, 10 May at 12:00, “Cook with Mum” invites guests to step behind the scenes and take part in a shared cooking session that’s as much about connection as it is about food.

Instead of sitting down to a prepared meal, participants become part of the process, cooking, tasting, and learning side by side.

  • The experience includes a four-course menu with house wine pairing, offering structure to the session while still keeping things relaxed. Each course becomes part of the journey, from preparation through to plating and, of course, enjoying the final result together.

At R995 per person, the event is positioned as a full experience rather than a standard lunch. It’s designed for adults only (18+), which keeps the focus on an easy, social atmosphere where conversation flows as naturally as the wine.

There’s room for laughter, a bit of experimentation, and the kind of shared moments that don’t usually happen at a restaurant table. It’s a chance to pick up a few skills, swap stories, and spend time doing something different together. For those looking to celebrate Mother’s Day with something more hands-on and memorable, The Chef’s Studio offers a simple idea: cook together, eat together, and let the experience do the rest.
