Restaurant Week: Roman Lunch/Dinner Specials at Meloncino

Restaurant Week is back!

It’s the time of the year, where upmarket restaurants across the country will offer their menu at reduced prices either for lunch or dinner. Seats have to be pre-booked in advance through the Restaurant Week online portal.

Meloncino at the V&A Waterfront

Welcome to Meloncino – the V & A Waterfront’s stylish restaurant for food and wine lovers alike. With three chefs imported from Italy, you can experience genuine Italian cuisine on your doorstep. Expect home-made pasta with authentic Italian sauces, steaks and seafood from the charcoal grill, traditional wood-fired pizza and an extensive menu to choose from. In order to stay faithful to the original, various ingredients, such as cheese, coffee and wine are imported from Italy.

How to book?

This year, Meloncino will be part of Restaurant Week (1 October – 30 October) offering a Roman-style lunch menu (2 courses: starter & main) for only R195 per person, while a 3 course dinner menu will only cost R295 per person.

Arancini (V)
Crispy risotto balls stuffed with mozzarella and served with a tomato, basil and garlic sauce, topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Home-made focaccia bread, toasted and garlic rubbed, topped with grass fed beef carpaccio, fresh rocket, red onion and shavings of Parmesan cheese, dressed in a delicate fig honey mustard dressing

SECONDI PIATTI

Ravioli with Porcini Mushroom and Truffle (V)
Fresh, home-made ravioli filled with porcini mushroom and Parmesan cheese, served in a delicate truffle and sage butter sauce

Linefish with Basil and Tomatoes
Fresh fillet of Kingklip, sautéed with garlic infused heirloom cherry tomatoes and fresh basil, accompanied with Parmesan infused pommes puree and fried basil leaves

Sirloin Port
Beef sirloin, sauted in fresh thyme and served with a vintage port and Madagascan green peppercorn jus served on a bed of Italian oven-roasted potatoes and sauted broccoli

Nutellamisu
Layers of mascarpone cheese and finger biscuits soaked in Italian espresso, combined with layers of Nutella sauce topped with chocolate crumble
