Moody Lagoon’s tasting menu at Benguela Cove offers a six-course showcase of local flavors, creativity, and refined comfort. [full menu]
What’s on the Menu?
- It starts with a breadboard and a freshly shucked oyster, setting a crisp, briny tone. The Symphony of Beetroot follows—beetroot prepared five ways (roasted, pickled, crisped, puréed, and candied) alongside a Danish feta mousse.
- Next is the West Coast Mussel Pot, featuring steamed and smoked mussels in a wild garlic and citrus buchu velouté, served with herb ciabatta crisps. Then comes From the Sea—local fish with couscous, a pan-fried prawn, smoked salmon velouté, pickled seaweed, and broccoli.
- For the main, a 200g Prime Beef Fillet arrives perfectly seared, topped with a smoked garlic, bacon, and mushroom cream sauce, plus mustard mash, carrot-potato purée, and seasonal vegetables.
- Dessert is the Nutty Half Sphere, a chocolate dome filled with dark chocolate mousse and roasted hazelnuts, finished with hazelnut brittle and white chocolate ganache.
- To end, there’s a curated cheese selection with preserves.
Wine pairings from the estate are available for each course, enhancing the experience from start to finish. Moody Lagoon’s tasting menu isn’t just dinner—it’s a culinary story told with humor, flair, and a whole lot of flavor. And trust us: it’s one story worth eating your way through.
