Summer Plates & Cape Stories: de Tafel at Palm House Boutique Hotel & Spa Now Open for Lunch

Cape Town food lovers, your midday plans are about to get a whole lot more delicious.

This summer, de Tafel at the Palm House Boutique Hotel & Spa opens its doors for lunch—and not just any lunch.

From 13 December, guests are invited to explore immersive tasting menus that turn seasonal ingredients and foraged treasures into a storytelling experience on a plate.

  • Helmed by Chef Gregory Henderson, each course is a thoughtful journey through Cape heritage, land, sea, and forest, layered with subtle complexity and plated with artistic flair. Think coastal seafood kissed by kelp and citrus, forest elements like pine-smoked butter and wild mushrooms, and nostalgic flavours reimagined through a modern lens.

Set in the tranquil garden surrounds of Palm House, this is fine dining reimagined for the long, golden days of summer—refined, grounded, and utterly transportive.

🌿 Christmas Day lunch is also on offer for those wanting to swap tradition for something more inspired (and infinitely more delicious).

✨ Details:

  • Lunch service begins 13 December

  • Seasonal tasting menus (not à la carte)

Whether you’re a dedicated gourmand or just someone who appreciates a good glass of wine and a view, de Tafel’s summer lunch promises to be an unforgettable highlight of the season.
