Pepsi MAX went to a pick-up game in Bloomfield, NJ pretending to shoot a documentary on a basketball player named Kevin. When his Uncle Drew came into the game, some magical things happened as he played one hell of a match!
It took a few hours in the make-up department for Kyrie Irving, the 2011-2012 NBA Rookie of the Year, to get ready for his big role in the latest Pepsi MAX commercial. It was time well spend according to the response this video has received with more than 6 million views on YouTube.
As one of Kevin’s friends gets injured, Uncle Drew is asked to join the game. Reluctantly he gets up, shoots a few air balls and adds a lot of heavy panting for good measure. After a while, Irving turns off the act and unleashes a fury of skills while always staying in character as the old man known as Uncle Drew. If his Basketball career doesn’t work out as planned – a role in feature films certainly could be on the cards in the future. Have a look at the video below: I loved it.
