When Truth Coffee Roasting calls something the rarest coffee on Earth, they mean it.
And this time, they’ve gone even deeper — introducing a release that doesn’t just celebrate rarity, it triples it.
Limited Edition Racemosa is back, and it’s unlike anything else in the coffee world.
- Not just rare — wildly rare. Not arabica. Not robusta. This is Coffea Racemosa: a species so rare, it was once thought extinct. Indigenous to a tiny stretch of South Africa’s Elephant Coast, Racemosa is as elusive as it is extraordinary. Order online now!
Why It’s So Unique
Unparalleled Purity: This isn’t cultivated farmland coffee. Racemosa grows wild in the coastal sand forests of South Africa’s Elephant Coast — one of the most remote and untamed corners of the continent. Its growth is unpredictable. The environmental conditions are tough. And that’s exactly why it’s so special.
With a naturally low caffeine content, there’s no need for decaf processing — Racemosa delivers a smooth, delicate experience all on its own. Think more tea-like than traditional espresso. Light. Elegant. Subtle.
Truth secured just 6kg of this botanical marvel. And through three different processing methods, they’ve crafted an experience with three times the character.
Three Times the Rarity
Each of the three batches has been processed and roasted to highlight different sides of the Racemosa personality:
-
Washed – Genmaicha tea, aniseed, dark chocolate
Clean and composed, with a structure that rewards slow sipping. -
Natural – Wild honey, canned peaches, camphor
A bit untamed, with bright sweetness and a deep, woodsy finish. -
Honey – Cannabis, stone fruit, raspberry
Rich, fruit-forward, and unapologetically bold.
Where It Grows
Born of the Elephant Coast: Racemosa grows nowhere else on Earth. It thrives in the sandy soils of South Africa’s East Coast, from sea level up to 600 meters. Nature made this plant tough — drought-resistant, pest-resistant, and naturally suited to its home without need for chemicals. This is coffee evolved for the wild.
The Delicate Art of Roasting
Racemosa isn’t just rare — it’s fragile. So fragile, Truth’s roasters literally use stethoscopes to listen for that elusive first crack during roasting. Each of the three processes was approached with care, precision, and obsession.
The result? Three small-batch expressions of one singular bean — each offering a different voice, mood, and memory.
How to Brew It
This coffee demands your attention. Brew it gently. Respect the process. Reach for your favorite hand-pour method — like a V60, Chemex, or Kalita — to let every note shine. This isn’t a throw-it-in-the-machine kind of bean. It’s a quiet ritual in a cup.
