The Cellars-Hohenort presents a Culinary Journey with Constantia Glen Wines

The Cellars-Hohenort Hotel & Spa invites food and wine lovers to indulge in an evening of refined flavours and expertly crafted wines in the heart of the historic Constantia Valley.

On Friday, 29 August 2025, guests will be treated to a five-course gourmet dinner paired with exceptional wines from Constantia Glen, one of South Africa’s most prestigious boutique wine estates.

Adding a special touch to the evening, Constantia Glen’s award-winning winemaker, Justin van Wyk, will be present to guide guests through each wine pairing. Known for his refined, terroir-driven winemaking style, Van Wyk will share insights into the estate’s acclaimed vintages and his philosophy behind each blend.

  • Curating the culinary side of the evening is Executive Chef Tronette Dippenaar and Head Chef Daniel Blignaut, whose culinary approach is rooted in seasonal ingredients and classic technique. With an eye for detail and a deep appreciation for local produce, they have designed a menu that starts with Oak Smoked Venison, artfully complemented by the Constantia Glen Sauvignon Blanc 2024 to enhance the smokiness of the dish.

White Fish Ceviche follows, paired with Constantia Glen TWO 2023, an elegant white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon offering aromas of lime zest, green apple and lemongrass. The third course features Dry Aged Chicken Petite enjoyed with Constantia Glen FIVE 2017, a classic Bordeaux-style blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Main course of Hibachi Grilled Beef Sirloin is the perfect match to Constantia Glen THREE 2022, a Merlot-led Bordeaux blend that delivers plush red fruits, hints of plum and cigar box, with a silky texture and balanced tannins. Dessert of White Peach Whipped Cheesecake will be served with the refreshing acidity of Constantia Glen Sauvignon Blanc 2019 cutting through the richness, to complete the culinary adventure.

The event will take place at the Greenhouse venue, set within the lush, historic gardens of The Cellars-Hohenort, offering the perfect setting for an evening of culinary sophistication and wine appreciation. Guests may also enjoy a special stay-over package including the dinner and a full breakfast the following morning, starting from R5 590 for two people.
