The stars are aligning once again at Vergenoegd Löw The Wine Estate, and they’re bringing back the smooth sounds and fine flavours that made last year’s event an instant hit.
Jazz Under the Stars is back by popular demand on Friday, 31 October, and it’s shaping up to be one of the winelands’ most anticipated nights of the season.
Set beneath the wide skies and surrounded by vineyards, this one-night-only experience blends live jazz, a heritage-inspired feast, and award-winning wine into a luxurious evening that hits all the right notes.
- Headlining the night is Moonshine, the genre-bending jazz ensemble led by internationally acclaimed saxophonist Dan Shout. Known for their infectious energy and “jazz with a kick,” Moonshine takes guests on a time-traveling musical journey—think the swinging sass of the 1920s through to the golden age of Motown. Expect toe-tapping tributes to Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, and more.
Whether you’re a lifelong jazz fan or just looking for a new kind of Friday night, this is the kind of music that moves you—body and soul.
Food & Wine Worth Dressing Up For
New executive chef Michelle Theron and her team will be dishing up a three-course Cape heritage-inspired menu, paired to perfection with the estate’s elegant wines. From canapés on arrival to a full dining experience inside the beautifully restored Clara’s Barn, every bite is designed to complement the mood and the moment.
Meanwhile, rising star Vusi Dalicuba, Vergenoegd Löw’s award-winning young winemaker, ensures the wine flows as smoothly as the saxophone solos—with bottles available at special prices throughout the night. It’s the perfect excuse to stock up for the festive season.
