Every Thursday this winter, the team at Brookdale is turning up the heat with crackling fires, bold wines, and weekly specials from Executive Chef Gary Coetzee.

It’s cosy, it’s classy, and it’s just the kind of midweek magic everyone needs once the temperature drops and socks become non-negotiable.

  • The launch night promises a menu that’s equal parts comforting and elevated, with venison from the coals—your choice of blesbok or impala loin—paired with seasonal, fire-forward flavours. Diners can opt for either braised red cabbage with saffron pear pecan praline and juniper jus, or go smoky with chimichurri, smoked potato mash, and BBQ-braaied carrot. It’s a culinary nod to winter warmth and wild elegance.

  • A complimentary glass of Mason Road Red Wine sets the tone, and optional sides like the jacket spud with sour cream, bacon bits & crispy onions (R35), charred gem with seaweed mayo, pickled red onion & avocado (R45), or the battered tenderstem broccolini with Cape Malay onion & chilli blatjang (R69) round out a menu designed for fireside indulgence.
