Iftar Goals: Middle Eastern Comforts meets Modern Hospitality at Hyatt House Sandton

As the sun dips below the skyline and the city eases into evening, Hyatt House Sandton invites guests to gather around the table for a comforting, flavour-filled Iftar Buffet that celebrates togetherness, tradition, and seriously good food.

Served daily at 18:00, this thoughtfully curated Iftar experience is designed to mark the breaking of the fast in a warm, welcoming setting.

At R365 per person, the Iftar Buffet offers excellent value, generous hospitality, and a meaningful way to gather during Ramadan.

  • It begins just as tradition intends — with dates and water — followed by refreshing sips of Rooh Afza, creamy mango lassi, and crisp samosas to gently ease diners into the meal.
  • From there, the buffet unfolds into a spread that balances Middle Eastern favourites with familiar comforts. Cold mezze steals the spotlight with silky hummus and smoky mutabal, while a vibrant build-your-own garden salad station allows guests to customise their plate with fresh greens, crunchy vegetables, pickles, flavoured oils, and zesty vinaigrettes. It’s light, colourful, and ideal for sharing stories across the table.
  • And then comes dessert — because no Iftar is complete without something sweet. Guests can tuck into warm, comforting Umm Ali, golden luqaimat drizzled with fragrant honey syrup, and seasonal fruit for a refreshing finish. The kind of desserts that encourage lingering conversations and “just one more bite”.

Adding to the feel-good factor, 10% of every transaction goes towards supporting the Gift of the Givers Foundation — making this an evening that nourishes both body and community. Whether enjoyed with family, friends, or colleagues, Hyatt House Sandton’s Iftar Buffet is a gentle reminder that some of the best moments happen when everyone comes together, just as the day turns into night.
