Brass Bell in Kalk Bay is turning up the heat this December with a performance that promises to be as bold and breathtaking as the ocean crashing below it.
On Sunday, 7 December, the iconic seaside venue hosts ¡Pulso!, an intimate fusion of classical guitar mastery and electrifying flamenco dance — a combination guaranteed to stop conversations, turn heads, and send ripples of excitement through the Theatre Restaurant and Captain’s Deck.
Arriving from 5pm, guests can settle in for à la carte dining as the ocean provides its famous soundtrack.
- Then, at 6:30pm sharp, the room transforms. Enter Ché Adams, whose contemporary flamenco style burns with storytelling intensity, and Nina Fourie-Gouws, a classical guitarist whose technical brilliance and expressive warmth have captivated audiences across the country.
Together, they don’t just perform — they ignite.
¡Pulso! sweeps audiences across centuries and continents, weaving through the architectural grandeur of old-world cathedrals, simmering Spanish cafés, and the vibrant energy of South American nights. Their programme includes works by Albéniz, Bach, Brouwer, Domeniconi, Dyens and Tárrega — a playlist built for goosebumps.
Since debuting in 2023, the duo has impressed on KykNet’s Fiësta, stunned at the Toyota Woordfees (where they earned a nomination for Best Classical Music Production), and packed festival halls and theatres from Greyton to Oude Westhof. Reviewers have praised their performances as “a high-energy blend of virtuosity and evocative lyricism,” giving audiences a fresh way to experience both classical guitar and flamenco in the modern era.
This one-night-only performance is set to be another sell-out, and with first-come seating, early booking is essential. Whether diners are there for the food, the artistry, or the theatre of it all, Brass Bell is serving a night as rich and layered as the music itself.
