At fable cape town, cocktails aren’t just mixed—they’re narrated.
With the arrival of their latest cocktail menu, the bar introduces eight new drinks inspired by South African folklore, each one designed to be as layered as the story behind it.
The new lineup leans into playful presentation and bold flavour combinations.
- Playful Pygmy Mice pairs Glenfiddich 12 with banana liqueur, condensed milk, and amaretto—served with a literal nod to cheese and mischief. Lion’s Share arrives with smoke and depth, blending Martell Blue Swift with brown butter, maple wood, and walnut for something rich and lingering. Other additions keep things unexpected. Hole-in-the-Wall mixes vodka with grape, olive, black pepper, and hanepoot for a savoury edge, while Tokoloshe brings tequila together with tomato, strawberry, bell pepper, and atchar—equal parts strange and surprisingly balanced. There’s also Grootslang, built on gin with green apple and botanicals, and Rain Bull, a brighter, fruit-forward mix topped with a cloud-like foam. Lady in White leans delicate and aromatic with gin, strawberry hibiscus sorbet, and elderflower, while Wood-Ash Stars rounds things off with notes of rooibos, pear eau de vie, honey, and toasted coconut.
The common thread is intention. Every ingredient, garnish, and vessel plays a role in telling the story. It’s theatrical, but never gimmicky.
For those who know fable, this is a natural evolution. For everyone else, it’s a reminder that a cocktail can do more than taste good – it can hold a narrative. Bookings are open, and the new chapter is best experienced in person.
