Winter in the Cape has brought more than chilly mornings and rain-soaked vineyards.
Following the recent storms that caused widespread flooding across the Breede River Valley, many families and farm workers have been left facing significant challenges.
In response, Jordan Wine Estate has launched a Winter Flood Relief Drive that turns community support into meaningful action.
- The initiative invites visitors to donate essential relief items, including blankets, warm clothing, non-perishable foods, and dog and cat food. Every qualifying donation of 6kg or more will be rewarded with a prepacked mixed case of Jordan wines, creating a simple yet impactful way for the community to give back while supporting a local estate.
Donations are accepted daily between 10:00 and 16:00, with all collected items distributed to established local charities as well as communities directly affected by the floods. The campaign reflects Jordan Wine Estate’s long-standing commitment to supporting local causes while responding to urgent needs across the region.
There is a practical side to the initiative, but there is also something wonderfully community-driven about it. A few bags of groceries, a warm blanket, or a donation of pet food can make a meaningful difference to someone facing a difficult winter. The added case of wine is simply a thoughtful thank you for helping carry the load.
Visitors are encouraged to ensure that all donated items are clean, usable, and non-expired. Group donations are welcome, making it an ideal opportunity for families, friends, workplaces, and community groups to get involved together.
The Winter Flood Relief Drive is a reminder that small acts of generosity can create a ripple effect. This winter, Jordan Wine Estate is offering the community a chance to share warmth, support local families, and help rebuild hope, one donation at a time.
