This winter, Durbanville Hills is inviting wine lovers to step beyond the tasting room and into the winemaker’s world with a one-night-only Winter Blending Event on 18 June 2026.
Designed for curious palates and creative minds, the evening begins with a welcoming glass of sparkling wine before guests embark on a guided cellar tour.
Along the way, they’ll gain insight into the journey behind every bottle, from cool-climate vineyards and careful craftsmanship to the ageing process taking place quietly within the cellar walls.
- A standout moment of the experience is the opportunity to taste wine straight from the source. Young, expressive wines reveal a side of winemaking that is rarely experienced outside the cellar, offering guests a fascinating glimpse into wines still evolving on their journey to the bottle.
The real fun begins at the blending tables.
Guided by the Durbanville Hills winemaking team, guests will experiment with different red wine components, adjusting structure, balance, and flavour until they create a blend that reflects their own personal style. The finished bottle is then sealed and taken home as a unique keepsake of the evening. Adding to the experience is a playful interactive element woven throughout the event, bringing an extra touch of discovery and reminding guests that wine should be enjoyed as much as it is studied.
The evening concludes at The Tangram, where a thoughtfully prepared two-course dinner is paired with wines, creating a warm and memorable finale to a night built around creativity, flavour, and connection.
