The 2015 vintage has been marked as one of the best vintages in Stellenbosch, especially for Cabernet Sauvignon & Bordeaux-style blends.
The harvest was marked as one of the driest and earliest harvests in years and produced lower yields but delivered exceptional quality. It was a harvest that promised greatness, and definitely fulfilled it.

It was the year Bertho van der Westhuizen joined as winemaker from May 2015, continuing the legacy of this father, Schalk van der Westhuizen. Shalk fermented all the wines from that vintage, and together with Bertho spent 3 months carefully selecting, blending and finally putting this extraordinary vintage into barrel.
Now, 10 years later, the 2015 vintage is still regarded as one of their most iconic vintages, the wines have matured beautifully, capturing the essence of heritage, family and terroir of excellence.

Alto Rouge 2015
An iconic blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petite Verdot. This wine has aged beautifully offering powerful aromas of red berries, cigar box and hints of dark chocolate. The palate is elegant with ripe, integrated tannins. A true reflection of the 2015 vintage.

Shiraz 2015
Crafted from 100% Shiraz and aged for 18 months in a combination of French and American oak, this vintage shows smoky, spicy aromas on the nose laced with red fruits and prune. The palate is plush with delicate flavours following through the nose.
The Shiraz 2015 was awarded with gold medals at both Veritas and the International Wine and Spirit Competition. This limited release is available for R450.00 (750ml) and R650.00 (1.5L) per bottle.
Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
The most celebrated variety encapsulating our terroir of excellence. The Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded with 93 points by Tim Atkin and showcases beautiful dark fruits, cedarwood and hints of fynbos on the nose. The palate is deep and rich with the perfect balance between structure and finesse.

Estate Blend 2015
The Flagship wine, made in a Bordeaux style consisting of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Complex and powerful with integrated oak nuances, dark chocolate and cigar box on the nose. The palate is layered with fruit, oak and soft, ripe tannins.
The Estate Blend 2015 was awarded with a Gold at Veritas as well as 94 points by Tim Atkin and is available for R900.00 per bottle.
M.P.H.S. 2015
Produced only in exception years, this limited-edition is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Cabernet Franc. It showcases a refined balance of red and dark fruits with integrated spice, structure and elegance. Awarded with an amazing 95 points by Tim Atkin, this is truly a special wine.
