The Cellars-Hohenort in Constantia (Cape Town) is raising a glass to 2021 with a range of year-end celebrations that may be booked for corporate events, as well as stylish private parties that are completely hassle-free.
Currently available for reservations up to 17 December 2021, is a choice between a 3-course lunch or dinner, classic High Tea, or a Garden picnic, with a welcoming glass of bubbly and a Christmas cracker included in each offering.
Garden Picnic at Cellars-Hohenort
Ideal for a relaxed end-of-year function with colleagues, the glorious gardens of The Cellars-Hohenort invite guests to spread out under the ancient camphor trees to enjoy a freshly prepared picnic basket. Baked vegetable quiche; Lemon-and rosemary-roasted chicken quarters; salad; focaccia; cheese; cold meat; olives and hummus lead to a sweet ending of mini scones with strawberry jam. The enchanting garden spreads across nine acres and boasts magnificent views of the Table Mountain range, and contains myriad of delights to explore that makes picnics a popular option for families during the holidays too. Classic High Tea
The legendary Cellars-Hohenort High Tea spread includes a variety of sweet and savoury treats, such as Sundried tomato and feta tarts; Grass-fed beef and peppadew skewers; Bobotie spring rolls; flavoured cupcakes; Walnut carrot cake; fresh fruit Pavlovas and Key-lime pie at a cost of R395 per person. Dress up to indulge in High Tea served in the majestic Hohenort wing of the hotel, which is now a dedicated events venue that comes complete with a wrap-around shady terrace and views over the leafy gardens.
Lunch & Dinner Set Menus
Those who prefer a more formal sit-down occasion may book a three-course festive-themed lunch or dinner in the elegant dining room. The menu starts with Summer tomato gazpacho as amuse bouche, followed by a starter of either Beetroot sponge or Smoked salmon trout from Franschhoek. Main course is a choice between Slow-braised pork belly; Pan-seared kingklip; and Charred cauliflower “steak”, followed by a choice of Chocolate marquise or Apple crumble slice, all for R445 per person.
Reservations are also taken for The Cellars-Hohenort’s decadent New Year’s Eve Dinner in the glamorous new Hohenort venue at R995 per person, prepared by Executive Chef Tronette Dippenaar and her team. The gourmet feast starts with a complimentary Welcome drink and canapés, followed by six delicious courses, including a choice of mains, ending with coffee/tea and Petit fours to ring in the new year. A vegetarian option is available at R895 per person.
