On the 18th of July Nelson Mandela would have been 100 years old, a South African icon, we will never forget his contribution to the nation and the world.
In celebration of a truly remarkable human being, Rueben’s at One&Only is paying tribute to Madiba with a commemorative dinner. A special menu has been crafted for the occasion with each dish paired with wines of apt significance.
The first toast will be with a glass of Graham Beck Brut – the MCC used to toast Nelson Mandela during his inauguration in 1994. Interestingly enough Barack Obama also celebrated his Presidential win with Graham Beck Brut NV in 2008. The three-course dinner will be paired with Marianne Floreal, which was served at Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday; Rust en Vrede Shiraz which was selected by Mandela for his 1993 Nobel Peace Prize dinner in Oslo; and ended off with Graham Beck Demi Sec.
