Cape Grace hosts Lammershoek Wine and Dine

With its penultimate Wine and Dine Event to be hosted on 31 October with Signal Restaurant at Cape Grace, Lammershoek was the first and only choice to form part of the History, Place, Future Wine and Dine Series’ conclusion.

Martin Drotsky, Signal Manager and Wine Sommelier, added, “With the start of this Wine and Dine Series, I wanted to choose estates with real heritage, unique placement and a passion to break the mould. I truly believe that all the featured estates within this series contained these elements. I am extremely happy with the line-up we had and am happy to report we have hosted some truly incredible events.” Drotsky adds, “We are very excited to announce the start of something even more unique for 2014 – a culinary experience for both our local and international guests, giving them the opportunity to host, dine and entertain. Guests will be served by sommeliers expertly trained to offer insight on the selected wine and menu pairings.

Lammershoek is a family-owned and run vineyard and winery in the Aprilskloof Valley of the Paardeberg. All 70ha of vineyards are farmed organically and mostly un-irrigated. There are three labels in the range, including LAMMERSHOEK – where wines remain true to both terroir and grapes; LAM – the farm’s first label offering fresh, drinkable wines and the CELLAR FOOT project label where boundaries are pushed with unusual and interesting varieties.

With its 3ha of olive trees from which they make oil, over 40 chickens that provide eggs and a milking cow called Nigella, Lammershoek not only offers guests phenomenal wines but a story with heart.  Craig Hawkins – the winemaker – offers a sense of personality and true passion to this vineyard, intriguing not only your senses but your mind as well.

Following the Lammershoek Wine and Dine on 27th November is RALL & BIZOE – themed, A Force of the Future. Signal will also be offering a Groot Constantia Tasting menu from 15 October until 18 November 2013.
