Accommodation at Knorhoek

Catering to couples are eight en suite bedrooms (from R1200 per couple per night, including breakfast), made up with king-size double bed or twin beds, fitted with crisp white linen. Each offering a private terrace overlooking the gardens. The rooms are tastefully decorated with free standing oak furniture, tea trays, hairdryer and satellite TV bouquet. Here guests can wake up to the serene sounds of nature, fill their lungs with untainted air and enjoy a hot cup of freshly ground coffee and plentiful farmhouse breakfast before reclining beside a crackling fireplace.

Self-catering garden cottages lend themselves ideally to exclusive family hideouts. The exquisite Rose Cottage Luxury unit (from R1650 per night for up to three guests) comprises a spacious bedroom en suite with bath and shower; A kitchenette open plan with dining room table perfect for preparation of a slow cooked potjie or home-made banana bread, while the family nestles around a puzzle or board games. The large inviting lounge opens onto a patio with barbeque and private garden, ideal for alfresco dining. Meeting both entertainment and relaxation in complete privacy. 

The second of the two beautifully decorated self-catering units, namely the Lavender Cottage (priced from R2700 per night for up to five guests), boasts two luxury en suite twin bedrooms, spacious lounge, fully equipped kitchen, private patio with barbeque and garden. As with the Rose cottage, this too includes a private garage and entrance; wi-fi; satellite TV bouquet and hairdryer.

Should guests prefer the ease of hassle-free dining, Knorhoek Restaurant’s chefs ensure extreme caution and obligation to culinary hygiene when preparing the delicious, farm-to-table fresh and wholesome breakfasts, lunch and dinner offerings. Both Vegetarian and Children’s menus available with a variety of delightful dining options. 

Artisanal picnic baskets (R225) brimming with delectable eats are also a favorite. Paired with any of the Knorhoek or Namysto wines (prices range between R100 and R250 per bottle). These laid-back lunches can be enjoyed around the pool or under a canopy of trees whilst the children are free to play safely. 

Activities on the farm range from long walks in nature, bike trails and hiking beside the streams that meander up the valley; birdwatching, not forgetting the flamboyant resident peacocks that strut fabulously around the estate. Summer welcomes guests to a splash in the rock pools, picnics on the lawns, wine tasting beneath the canopy of trees (R70 – R140 for all seven varietals), or dining beneath the stars and fairy lit trees.
