Whisky, Wood Fire & Wow-Worthy Flavours: An Evening at Taj Cape Town

Cape Town foodies, clear your calendars. On Thursday, 30 May, the elegant Mint Restaurant & Wood-Fired Grill at Taj Cape Town is rolling out the red carpet for a night of fine whisky and fire-kissed fare you won’t want to miss.

It’s called the Dalmore Whisky Pairing Dinner, and for just R450 per person, you’re in for a guided flavour adventure featuring four exceptional single malts from the iconic Highland distillery—paired with a four-course feast that’ll make your taste buds stand to attention.

What’s on the Menu?

  • 🥃 Welcome Drink: Dalmore 12
Start strong with a perfectly balanced Dalmore 12, served neat or shaken into a signature cocktail. Expect rich citrus, spice, and smooth chocolate to kick off your palate party.

  • 🍽️ Starter: Smoked Duck Breast Carpaccio
    Paired with Dalmore 15
Cured duck, beetroot purée, pickled mustard seeds, and horseradish cream—bold, earthy, and elegant alongside the warm spice and orange peel notes of the 15-Year-Old.

  • 🔥 Main: Flame-Grilled Lamb Chops
    Paired with Dalmore 18
A showstopper main—tender lamb chops on parsnip and pear purée with black garlic jus and roasted root veg. Deep, complex flavours meet the chocolate, coffee, and spice notes of the 18-Year-Old.

  • 🍫 Dessert: Whisky Chocolate Mousse
Paired with Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve
Dark, decadent mousse with whisky caramel, salted almonds, and orange gel. Rich meets richer in this perfect sweet finale.

This isn’t your average dinner. It’s a masterclass in flavour, balance, and culinary creativity—all in the warm, modern glow of one of Cape Town’s top dining destinations.

There will be complimentary valet parking.
