Join Alto Wine Estate for a curated summer canapé and wine pairing, including four of their exceptional wines paired with four carefully created canapés.

The summer pairing is R185.00 per person and will be available every Friday to Sunday during tasting room hours only.

  1. Alto Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé 2023

Trout Croquette, basil pesto, lemon mayo, crispy caper

The Alto Rosé is fresh and vibrant with aromas of rose petals, white stone fruit and freshly crushed berries, the palate is luxurious with a balanced fresh acidity and hints of minerality in the finish. Trout is the perfect accompaniment to the Rosé; the lemon mayo also adds an additional layer of complexity to the overall taste experience while the crispy caper enhances the acidity in the finish.

  1. Alto Rouge 2021

Mini Alto Rouge Slider, homemade patty, smoked tomato and bacon chili jam, mustard mayo, mozzarella, pickles and fresh rocket.

The Rouge is renowned for its drinkability, the fact that is can be enjoyed over any occasion and pairs perfectly with this mini version of their popular Alto Rouge burger.  The spice mixture used in the homemade patty enhances the fynbos and graphite tones in the wine while the smoky tomato and chilli work well with the fresh fruity flavours and smooth tannins in the finish.

  1. Alto Shiraz 2018

Springbok loin wrapped in prosciutto, wild mushroom pepper jus.

The Alto Shiraz is perfumed with violets and complex spice undertones which pair perfectly with the gentle game flavours of the Springbok loin, the wild mushrooms and pepper used in the jus bring out the ripe plum and meaty nuances in the wine while the prosciutto add to the smoky element in the finish.

  1. Alto Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

AAA-grade Chalmar Sirloin, onion puree, mushroom sauce.

Red wine and red meat are a match made in heaven, especially with the award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon. The onion puree used in this canapé pairs beautifully with the robust, dense tannins in the wine while the mushroom sauce adds to the lingering finish of black current, cherry and plum.
