Stella Café & Bar at Southern Sun The Cullinan Hotel

Stella Café & Bar, located on the ground floor of the Southern Sun The Cullinan hotel on Cape Town’s foreshore, is a beautiful Parisian-inspired restaurant decorated in shades of gold, navy and natural wood. It exudes a chic and elegant yet contemporary feel, and is the perfect place to enjoy after work drinks or al-fresco dining around the stylish poolside allure.

Whilst the ambience is enticing, what comes dancing out of the kitchen is equally tempting. The tapas menu is a must and includes a fusion of flavours with an injection of Cape Malay influence.

Award-winning Executive Chef, Henrico Grobbelaar expresses his creativity in the delights such as the Bo Kaap Bobotie Spring Roll with lime pickle sauce, Malay Braised Sausage with roti and sambals, and cured Barbeque Salmon with lemon pepper crème fraîche. Small copper pots with fragrant angry duck curry further add to the fabulous food menu.

Expect craft beers alongside popular local labels, champagne, innovative cocktails, and some of South Africa’s finest wines – if you are looking for a rare find, a selection of auction wines are available and can be experienced in the intimate wine room. Resident Sommelier, Georgio Meletiou, will even recommend and select the perfect wine pairing to compliment your meal.

Stella Sessions

If auctions wines don’t appeal, local bubbly might. With a summer favourite, aptly named #StellaSessions, you can enjoy bottomless bubbly for sundowners every Friday through summer from 17:00 – 19:00 for only R140 per person.

At Stella Café & Bar guests can expect exceptional service to be appreciated, beautifully prepared food to surprise and delight, and bottomless bubbly to encourage a glowing and glamorous lifestyle.
