Salushi Specials Interview

Salushi is the ideal venue for a long lazy lunch, relaxing dinner while the cocktail bar is perfect for winding down after a long day at the office. The owner, Grant Isaacs, has started offering specials exclusively to Facebook fans & Twitter followers recently. We’ve caught up with him and asked a few questions about interacting with his customers on social media, the latest promotions as well as what kind of specials we can expect in the future.

Salushi Claremont

You’ve been interacting with your Facebook community a lot talking about what kind of specials people are interested are & set prices for these specials. Can you comment on your experience of interacting with fans on Facebook.

It’s always interesting to get opinion’s from Facebook members as these are people who have taken the time to “like” your page and are obviously fairly serious about keeping abreast of what’s happening in the industry. It’s not always easy to keep up with what the competition is doing so getting input from members seems to be a great way of keeping up with trends, specials and presents a picture of how we are fairing. I’ve received some valuable feedback and the more we continue to do so, I think the communication will improve (as members realize there’s a face behind the Salushi page).

Why have you decided to offer exclusive Facebook deals?

Again members who have taken the time to “like” Salushi obviously value our product and service and as word of mouth remains the greatest form of marketing for a restaurant, these valued customers are essential to us and it’s important we look after them. It also creates a bit of a “vibe” and get’s people talking, watching the page for new specials and hopefully growing the network of valued customers.

What has been the response so far? Are many people taking advantage of your exclusive specials?

Response to the specials has been average….but we’ve grown from 180 to over 300 members in less than a month.

What other specials can people look forward to?

We will continue doing interesting, crazy specials, put up at short notice and running for a short space of time.

How long do you plan on continuing these Facebook specials?

As long as it works and as long as our members continue supporting us, we’ll continue to offer them value. Initially it was a winter idea but we’ll keep “keeping it interesting”. Will soon be offering a dinner for 6 at one’s home with one of our private chefs creating a sushi extravaganza in order to promote our new events and catering division, Salushi eXpress!
