Restricted Access Route now added to the Durbanville Hill’s Table Mountain Experience

I love being a tourist in our own city – there is so much to explore in Cape Town. This restricted tour around Table Mountain is now open thanks to the Durbanville Hill’s Experience where you will enjoy the hidden wonders of Table Mountain, while enjoying a wonderful wine-tasting in the comfort of a customised safari vehicle.

The historic route starts at the cableway from where it continues along the slopes of Devils Peak offering spectacular views of Table Bay, Lion’s Head and the Cape Peninsula. The area, rich with indigenous flora, is also home to historical Malay burial sites, the King George and two other block houses that were predominantly used as early warning lookout-points.  Near Rhodes Memorial the tour will include a stop-over at a breeding programme established for the protection of the Cape Mountain Zebra and other animals that once used to freely roam the slopes.

At a carefully selected spot chosen for its beautiful scenery, a wine tasting experience will be presented with a selection of the finest wine from Durbanville Hills, complemented with a selection of cheeses and fresh breads.

The route forms part of Durbanville Hills’ new guided experiences in celebration of the cellar’s unique view of Table Mountain, Table Bay and Robben Island.

With collection points at selected guest houses and hotels in and around Cape Town, the new historical tour compliments the other two options currently available whereby guests can choose to visit Table Mountain followed by a tasting of Durbanville Hills’ wines at a look-out point overlooking the city. Or guests can visit the home of Durbanville Hills Wines, a mere 30 minutes from Cape Town’s city centre where with scenic views of Table Mountain, the rolling hills and adjoining vineyards, they can choose between a tasting of eight wines or a biltong and wine pairing.

Cost range from R130 to R200 with collection and drop-off at hotels and guest houses on selected days.
