The Homestead, together with the culinary wizards at Food Fanatics, is closing the season with a bang — and a few high notes.
On Friday, 15 August, the inimitable Ms. Aretha Flowers returns to strut, sing, and slay in what promises to be an evening of unapologetic glamour, outrageous fun, and food worth writing home about.
For R575 per person, guests are treated to a three-course menu that’s as bold and satisfying as the performance itself.
- The night kicks off with a roast tomato soup paired with a caramelised onion and gruyère galette — a perfect duet of comforting warmth and savoury elegance. Mains offer a choice between Beef Shin Osso Bucco, slow-cooked to melt-in-the-mouth perfection, or almond ricotta-stuffed zucchini involtini, a vegetarian option that’s every bit as indulgent. And because The Homestead knows how to finish strong, dessert comes in the form of a chocolate cherry affogato — rich, decadent, and just a little bit cheeky.
But the food is only half the story. The other half? Ms. Aretha Flowers in all her sparkling glory, delivering powerhouse vocals, side-splitting humour, and just the right amount of drama. Expect music tributes that will have you swaying in your seat, laughing until your cheeks hurt, and maybe even questioning why you don’t own more sequins yourself.
Seats are already in high demand, and once they’re gone, they’re gone — this is the final Drag & Dinner event of the season.
