The Chef’s Selection at EB Social Kitchen & Bar

Chef Russell Armstrong, from Social Kitchen & Bar in Johannesburg uses his latest Chef’s Selection to highlight some of the best seasonal taste combinations.

Searching for the right flavour combinations to not only please your palate and rumbling tummy, but also your wallet, can be difficult. Social Kitchen & Bar has put together a delightful seasonally-inspired sharing menu that is light, tasty and satisfying.

The Chef’s Selection, priced at R420 for a five-course lunch menu or R580 for a seven-course dinner menu, is designed for two people. It serves up seven share-worthy plates. Fresh, simple dishes bursting with vibrant colour, texture and palate-pleasing flavours.

Russell’s philosophy when it comes to food is to combine beautiful flavours using skilled technique to deliver the best meals.

I love to cook simple food, because that’s what I enjoy eating. When I cook for my family and friends in Australia, it’s always simple dishes – gnocchi, risotto or pasta. These are dishes I’d like everyone to try, and share.

The lunch and dinner menus are similar, just differing in the number of courses, and will change regularly. Each feature a simmering combination of fresh flavours, international flavours and simple combinations of ingredients.
