Walk through Scotland this Father’s Day at EB Social Kitchen & Bar

Spoil your Dad this Father’s Day with a whisky tasting that takes your Dad on a journey through some of Scotland’s finest whiskies.

Exclusive Books’ Social Kitchen & Bar in Hyde Park is giving you the opportunity to take your Dad on a journey through Scotland this Father’s Day on Sunday, 18 June. Starting at 12h00, your Dad can experience a guided tasting of four of Scotland’s premier Single Malt Whiskies including Cardhu, Singleton 12y.o, Talisker and Lagavulin; courtesy of Diageo.

After the tasting, you and your family can indulge in lunch cooked by internationally-acclaimed Chef, Russell Armstrong.

The five-course whisky paired meal is priced at R350 per head, and the five-course non-paired menu is priced at R240 per head. Dishes will include an appetizer followed by smoked salmon on brioche; crepinette of beef, oxtail and mushrooms; slow-roasted pork rack with fondant potatoes, and gorgonzola panacotta.

Chef Armstrong has worked in collaboration with Diageo to develop the menu which complements the characteristics of each whisky. Cardhu is well known for its hint of bruised pears, whereas Singleton 12’s orange zest and spiciness leaves a lingering fruit finish. The Lagavulin features concentrates of mature sherry and creamy vanilla, and the Talisker 10 is full-bodied, fresh, fragrant and intense.

Exclusive Books’ Social Kitchen & Bar in Hyde Park is not only Johannesburg’s best restaurant to share conversations and hand-crafted food, but it completes the epicurean adventure with simple food, inspired cocktails and a view fit for a King.
