Zeitz MOCAA: Free entry, local food and live performances

For a Heritage Day outing that combines culture with food, Zeitz MOCAA is offering free museum entry on Thursday 24 September 2026. The museum will be open from 10:00 to 18:00, with a complimentary ticket issued on arrival. Visitors can explore exhibitions, enjoy guided tours, take part in creative workshops and experience live musical performances from the V&A Buskers and other local groups. A dedicated outdoor food court powered by Makers Landing will serve local flavours throughout the day.

Stir Crazy Cooking School

Stir Crazy Cooking School at 14 West Quay Road, Pierhead District is also hosting cooking classes over the Heritage weekend. These are evening cooking experiences rather than lunches, with classes including Simply Sushi on 23 September, Moroccan Magic on 25 September, and Spanish Delicacies and Vietnam and Cambodia on 26 September. Each class is priced at R895.

Beluga Restaurant at the Cape Town Cruise Terminal in the V&A Waterfront is serving a special Heritage Day three-course set menu for R495 per person from 23 to 25 September 2026. The menu features flavour-filled twists on South African favourites and nostalgic dishes, with a variety of items to choose from plus special drink options.
