Cake of the King at Cassis Paris
Cassis Paris have just launched Galette de Rois in all of their stores. transl. Cake of the King is a lovely tradition in France and occures to celebrate the Epiphany. They normally sell them (mostly) for order during the month of January. They have become quite popular as regulars have come to appreciate them. It is a wonderful caramelized puff pastry filled with baked almond cream.
Traditionally , the youngest child climbs under the table and says who gets each slice of the cake. The person who finds the little trinket in their slice becomes the King or Queen for the day and gets the crown. He/she also gets to choose their king or queen.
