Spring is officially rolling in, and with it comes the perfect excuse to swap winter coats for sun hats and head out for a little indulgence.
On Saturday, 30 August 2025, La Paris Bistro is hosting its much-loved Spring Day High Tea, and let’s just say: it’s not your granny’s tea party.
From 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, guests can settle into the scenic beauty of La Paris Estate and enjoy a high tea that’s equal parts elegant and imaginative. Think crisp linen, fresh flowers, and a spread that walks the line between classic and cheeky.
The Menu: Floral, Fresh, and Fantastically Extra
- Start savoury with a macaron. Yes, savoury. This week’s feature flavour is a mystery, but it’s paired with treats like a jet-black charcoal sandwich filled with smoked salmon trout, cream cheese, compressed cucumber, fennel, and dill – basically, a spa day in sandwich form.
- There’s also a mushroom vol-au-vent that’s flaky in all the right ways, and a mini lamb bobotie quiche with turmeric béchamel that’s pure South African comfort with a twist of flair.
- On the sweet side, brace yourself: the mini lemon meringue has been known to silence even the chattiest table. Add to that a gluten-free dark chocolate brownie with butterscotch and cocoa nibs, a sea salt caramel tartlet, a mini pavlova piled with fruit and pistachios, and of course, a sweet macaron of the week. It’s the kind of line-up that demands stretchy waistbands.

Because no Spring celebration is complete without a drink in hand, every high tea includes your choice of floral cocktail or mocktail. These aren’t your average spritzes – they’re garden party in a glass.
