Durbanville Hills Serves Up Seven-Course Magic with Tastes of Tangram

If you thought puzzles were just for rainy Sundays and coffee tables, think again — Durbanville Hills is turning the iconic Tangram into a seven-course culinary adventure this August.

On the 13th (sold out) and 14th, The Tangram restaurant invites you to take a seat, grab a glass, and prepare for a night where food, wine, and imagination collide.

At R700 per person, the Tastes of Tangram dinner is no ordinary meal.

  • It’s a flavour journey inspired by the seven shapes of the Tangram puzzle — each piece representing a course that connects Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and you. And trust us, your tastebuds are about to be very complete.

What’s on the plate?

The menu reads like a greatest hits album of flavour:

  • West Coast oyster with passionfruit salsa to awaken your senses

  • Calamari & prawns in a passionfruit beurre blanc so smooth it should have its own soundtrack

  • Curried chicken sosatie that’s like a hug from your heritage

  • Pea and smoked ham croquette with truffle aioli (yes, please)

  • Springbok tataki and carpaccio with blueberry compote — a wild twist you didn’t see coming

  • Honey-mustard pork belly that might just make you weep

  • And the finale: brandy-infused cherry compote with chocolate namelaka and caramelized white chocolate crumb — basically dessert doing cartwheels.

Every dish is expertly paired with Durbanville Hills wines, making this dinner not just a feast, but a fully orchestrated sensory experience.
