Delectable Delights with The Twelve Apostles’ new Vegan High Tea

International foodies and trend forecasters have hailed 2018 as the year of plant-based eating, with Google reporting a 90% increase in searches for vegan food over the past year.  A growing public awareness, about produce security and sustainability, has taken the perception of ‘veganism’ from bland and boring, to tasteful and trendy inthe foodie-sphere…and according to all the indicators…it’s here to stay!

Last year vegan diners who applauded the introduction of the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa’s Vegan Tasting Menu, are now relishing the addition of the hotel’s newest culinary offering – a Vegan High Tea.

Executive Pastry Chef Gina Marziani and her team, have craftily created a Vegan High Tea menu that will have even the non-vegans clambering to try the new high tea spread. Diners can look forward to a tantalising smorgasbord of sandwiches and tortilla wraps with fried aubergines, roasted peppers and marinated tomato. Or on the sweeter side, forest berry jellies, Valrhona Manjari chocolate and peanut bons bons, and banana and oat cookies.

“High tea traditionalists will not be disappointed with our Valrhona Manjari chocolate and hazelnut cake and how could we not include the famous scone…our vegan take on this great tea classic, comes with jam and mixed berry compote. – enthuses Chef Marziani.

The Vegan High Tea is available daily in the Leopard Bar and Conservatory from 10h00 to 16h00 at R475 per person. 24 hours notice is required for a booking.
