If the plan is to start 2025 in style, The Reserve at Taj Cape Town has crafted a New Year’s Eve celebration that blends elegance, indulgence, and a pinch of festive magic.
On 31 December, guests are invited to an extravagant buffet dinner accompanied by a live band, beginning at 18h30 with a sparkling Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel welcome drink in hand.
The evening kicks off with healthy trail mix and a selection of freshly baked breads served with flavoured butters and tempting dips.
- Then it’s on to the antipasti and salads, a colourful spread featuring delights like curried chicken and apple salad, burrata with heirloom tomatoes, and cumin roasted butternut with cranberries and feta. South African cured meats, cheeses, sushi, and a bounty of fresh accompaniments add to the feast.
- Seafood lovers will find paradise at the seafood selection, where West Coast oysters, yellowtail gravlax with mango and chilli, and chilled calamari rings share the spotlight with shrimp cocktails served with avocado and lemon herb dressing.
- The carvery is pure indulgence: herb-crusted beef sirloin, slow-roasted leg of lamb, whole baked fish, and all the hearty sides you could wish for. From the Asian selection, expect aromatic dishes like lamb rogan josh, Thai seafood curry, butter chicken, plum glazed pork ribs, and fragrant jasmine rice with warm naan bread.
- And because no celebration is complete without dessert, The Reserve is laying on a sweet spectacular — apple strudel, mini trifles, churros with chocolate sauce, dark chocolate Christmas pudding, and a firework display of petit fours, macarons, panna cottas, cheesecakes, and fruit tartlets.
At R2 750 per person (half price for children 12 and under), this is an evening of flavour, music, and celebration — the perfect way to toast to the year ahead.
