Presented across four courses, these will include the mouth-watering flavours of biltong, boerewors, bunnychow and bobotie, and the iconic sweet treats of koeksisters, milktart and malva pudding – to name but a few.

What’s on the High Tea Menu?

  • The four-course feast will start with a Biltong pinwheel; Braaibroodjie; and a Mini-vetkoek; and continues with a second savoury course of Peppadew and feta quiche; Lentil Bobotie springrolls with a chutney dipping sauce; Boerewors pie; Smoked Snoek croquettes; and a Mini-lamb bunny chow.
  • Freshly baked, warm scones are synonymous with High Tea at the elegant Cellars-Hohenort, served during Heritage Day weekend with Cape gooseberry jam, butter and whipped cream.
  • The grand finale of this indulgent High Tea treat will be a cake stand filled with decadent confectionary that includes signature South African staples such as Mini-Malva pudding; Mini-milktart; Koeksisters; Chocolate peppermint gateau and Butternut caramel cake.

After a delicious High Tea spread guests are invited to take a gentle stroll through the stunning hotel gardens and rolling lawns which spread over nine acres, and while away an hour or two exploring the ponds, water features and shady corners under a canopy of ancient trees.

The Heritage High Tea will be served in the elegant Greenhouse venue (Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 11h00 to 13h00 and at 14h00 to 16h00) and will include tea and coffee (R425 per person). Booking is essential.
