Bookings Now Open for Eagles’ Nest Gastronomic Event at The Cellars-Hohenort Hotel

The Cellars-Hohenort Hotel & Spa is joining forces with Eagles’ Nest Vineyards on Friday 25 July 2025, to bring diners an exquisite food and wine pairing dinner experience.

The elegant six-course culinary showcase will be presented by Head Chef Daniel Blignaut and Eagles’ Nest winemaker Craig Barnard who will introduce a menu specially crafted to complement the expressive character of Eagles’ Nest wines – renowned for their cool-climate elegance, layered complexity, and exceptional balance.

From start to finish, this gastronomic event promises a beautifully curated journey of Constantia’s unique terroir, both on the plate and in the glass (R795 per person).

  • After Welcome Canapés and a glass of Eagles’ Nest Vineyards Shiraz 2022, dinner will commence with Plantain Velouté served with Eagles’ Nest Sauvignon Blanc Reserve 2023; followed by Butter Poached Sole paired with Eagles’ Nest Sauvignon Blanc 2024. The main course of Dry Aged Duck Breast served with confit duck croquette, beetroot, young carrot, pistachio, duck fat potato and java jus will be perfectly complemented by the layers of spice and ripe plum of Eagles’ Nest Shiraz Reserve 2022. Baked Brie & Pear Cheesecake will be next, enjoyed with Eagles’ Nest Merlot 2018; with Pineapple & Coconut Pudding ending the culinary feast on another highlight, paired with Eagles’ Nest Viognier Reserve 2022.

The Cellars-Hohenort Hotel & Spa is also offering a special stay-over rate that is inclusive of the gourmet dinner, as well as full breakfast the next morning, from R5 590 for two people sharing.
