A Tapas-Style Valentine’s Day Evening at Oude Werf

Valentine’s Day at Oude Werf is all about sharing. Sharing plates, sharing moments, and sharing a relaxed evening set to soft live music.

This year, the historic courtyard restaurant invites couples to step away from the usual formalities and enjoy a tapas-style celebration that feels warm, social, and effortlessly romantic.

The evening menu is designed for grazing and conversation.

  • Guests can expect a selection of comforting and flavour-packed small plates, including baked Camembert, smoked trout, Korean BBQ chicken skewers, and pulled beef croquettes. Each dish is made to be passed around the table, encouraging an easy, unhurried flow to the night. And because no Valentine’s celebration is complete without something sweet, the experience ends on a dessert note made for sharing.

Adding to the atmosphere is live music by Desnin Williams, performing from 18:30 to 21:30. The gentle soundtrack creates a laid-back backdrop that complements the food and setting without stealing the spotlight. It’s the kind of evening where conversations linger, glasses stay topped up, and time seems to slow just a little.

Set within one of Stellenbosch’s most iconic spaces, Oude Werf offers a Valentine’s Day celebration that feels intimate without being overdone. No rigid courses. No pressure. Just good food, live music, and a welcoming space to enjoy the evening together.

The tapas-style Valentine’s dinner takes place on 14 February. Booking is essential, and reservations can be made by emailing reservations@oudewerf.co.za.
