A Sagra to Remember: Woodlands Eatery pairs Italian-Inspired Plates with Brookdale Wines

The Woodlands Eatery teams up with Brookdale Wine Estate for another of its much-loved Sagra evenings—this time celebrating citrus-inspired flavours and generous pours in a relaxed, social setting.

Set for 28 April, the evening brings together a five-course menu paired with four wines (R495 per person), with the signature Sagra style: abundant plates, flowing wine, and a lively, intimate atmosphere.

What’s on the menu?

The experience opens fresh and bright with:

  • Carpaccio di Pomodorini & Avocado Salsa – cherry tomato carpaccio with avocado salsa, cannellini beans, and basil, paired with Mason Road Rosé 2025

A crisp, citrus-led second course follows:

  • Calamari Fritti al Profumo di Agrumi – deep-fried Patagonian calamari with orange zest crust and lemon aioli, paired with Mason Road Chenin 2025

For something richer:

  • Risotto Piselli & Pancetta – Italian-style risotto with peas and crispy bacon, paired with Bradbourne 2024

The next course leans hearty and comforting:

  • Melanzane & Agnello – layered eggplant with shredded lamb, tomato sauce, basil, mozzarella, and parmesan, paired with Mason Road Syrah 2024

Dessert keeps it classic:

  • Cannoncino alla Crema – a crisp pastry filled with rich custard cream

Sagra nights at The Woodlands Eatery are known for being less formal and more festive. Guests can expect a full table, generous wine service, and a pace that encourages conversation between courses. Book your table now!
