Located at The Vineyard Hotel in Newlands, Morii’s menu is inspired by Italy and grounded in Cape Town. The Restaurant Week menu follows that idea with Italian culinary references alongside unexpected ingredients and combinations, making for a dinner that moves beyond the usual pasta-and-pizza expectations.
What is included in the Morii Restaurant Week menu?
The three-course dinner starts with a choice of three starters. Szechuan Beef Tataki combines yuzu vinaigrette, shaved Grana Padano and baby pak choi, while Patagonian Squid comes with caponata, miso bagna cauda, toasted onions and tomato fondue. For a vegetable-led option, Charred Globe Artichokes are served with ponzu, green grape salsa and almonds.
The main course selection keeps the Italian inspiration firmly in place while bringing in plenty of personality. Braised Osso Bucco is served with smoked polenta, burnt mandarin salsa verde and candied lemon rinds. Sustainably Caught Line Fish comes with potato noodles, Nanz buke mussels, tamarind and coconut velouté, while Smoked Gem Squash Risotto combines toasted pine nuts, red onion and gochujang-grilled courgettes.
Dessert offers two very different ways to finish. Lemon Crémeux brings together phyllo cannoli, basil mousse, Limoncello granita, olive oil sponge, strawberry, basil and cucumber salsa. For something richer, Affogato Chocolate Chiffon Cake features chocolate ganache, cardamom cream, balsamic dulce de leche gelato, a coffee sphere and crystallised chocolate.
