The President Hotel is the epitome of style and grandeur. With a name like theirs, what else do you expect? Their eateries will delight with culinary creations such as citrus and goat’s cheese roulade with avocado and pomegranate, or a heartier grilled octopus with lightly curried yoghurt or something to satisfy the sweet tooth like pistachio sable with roast fig ad buttermilk mousse.
The President Hotel is celebrating Heritage Day a little early on 22 September and is going back to basics with a traditional celebration of our culinary roots with this buffet.
Come from 12:30-3pm and enjoy starters such as Dombolo “in a tin” with traditional Chakalaka or a refreshing brown lentil and feta salad, followed by hearty mains like seafood potjie with waterblommetjies and fennel or a classic South African braai’d chicken thigh with rosemary butter and almonds. Desserts include “ystervarkies” with dark chocolate ganache and traditional Cape Malay koeksisters with a sprinkle of toasted coconut. There will also be craft beer, gin and wine available.
The cost is only R235 per person. Children under the age of 6 eat for free, and children between ages 7 and 12, pay R100.
I’d say we do pretty good on the food front, wouldn’t you? Book your seat now.
