Cape Town can feel a little gloomy in the winter months, with cloudy skies, colder temperatures and darker mornings and evenings. Fortunately, with Cape Town’s culinary and hospitality options, winter can be quite exciting too.
The Cape Milner has a few ideas on how to enjoy the colder days with their fantastic new winter menu and special winter rates at their boutique hotel.
Their team has put together a spectacular winter-warming menu, made with fresh and seasonal ingredients, incorporating a combination of flavoursome starters, warm and hearty main dishes and luscious desserts.
The crumbed Camembert starter served with cranberries, French loaf and Cumberland sauce is a thing of dreams on a cold night. The nourishing coconut and sweetcorn soup will warm you right up and the delicious smoked chicken salad is just the right starter if you’re wanting something light.
For mains, guests can choose from a selection of three delectable dishes: the wild mushroom ragout with cranberry dumplings; the confit duck leg with red cabbage, roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes; or the lamb Rogan Josh with roasted winter vegetables and basmati rice.
To round off your meal with something sweet, you are presented with a tough choice between the salted caramel tiramisu with cherry glaze and mango sorbet, the baked apple stuffed with dried fruit, and the traditional Malva pudding and vanilla custard.
Choose between the 2-course option at R230 or the 3-course option at R280 per person. Both include a complimentary glass of Leopard’s Leap Merlot or Chenin Blanc and are valid from 1 June 2018 to 30 September 2018.
The hotel also has a wonderful winter rates special on offer, stay for three nights and only pay for two when booking a standard room at The Cape Milner. Valid until the end of September 2018.
If you’re thinking of having a staycation or cosy weekend in Cape Town, look no further than The Cape Milner, the perfect urban escape.
