Taking place on 27 May 2026 from 09:00 to 12:00, this relaxed morning experience brings together food, farming, conservation, ecology, and wine in a setting that feels perfectly suited to the occasion.
As one of the Cape’s oldest working wine estates, Vergenoegd Löw is opening its gates for a guided experience that goes beyond the tasting room and into the living rhythms of the estate.
- Guests will be welcomed with coffee or tea on arrival, before joining a curated programme designed to offer a closer look at the people, practices, and ecosystems that shape the estate. The morning begins with an opening welcome from Corius Visser, followed by the estate’s much-loved daily duck run—because some traditions deserve their own spotlight.
The programme continues with an ecology tour led by Milan Germishuizen, a discussion on animal welfare with Dr Kidd, and insights into Dexter cattle farming with Willie du Plessis of the Dexter Cattle Breeders’ Society. Guests will also hear from Bennie Diedericks on conservation and ecological perspectives, while Suzanne Papenfus shares thoughts on the estate’s gardens and landscaping.
And because no meaningful farm morning should end on an empty stomach, the experience concludes with a Dexter burger prepared by Chef Michelle Theron, paired with a glass of Vergenoegd Löw wine.
