Silcrete Cinsault
Silcrete is a lithological term for a strongly hardened rock composed mainly of inherited quartz grains. These rocky soils are ideal for growing Cinsault. Our fruit comes from our nearly 30-year-old dryland bush vines, yielding a fragrant wine with intense fruit aromas and lacy tannins. Aged in large and old wooden barrels to add complexity and balance.
- Tasting notes: A very approachable fresh, red fruit driven nose gives way to earthy and savoury flavours along with a soft delicate tannin structure that creates a velvety texture.

Tristone Cabernet Sauvignon
Stellenzicht is home to 22 blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon vines. From the top of the farm which meets the Helderberg Mountain, right down to the bottom where our vineyards end, the expression of the soil and stones change. At the top is rocky sandstone, on the mid-slopes is decomposed sandstone, and at the bottom is koffieklip. These varying soils have different impacts on the vines’ growth and how the loved Cabernet Sauvignon variety expresses aromatics and flavours.
- Tasting notes: With the Tristone Cabernet Sauvignon, you will find a very aromatic nose of cassis, blue fruit and cedar notes balanced by fine tannins, pencil lead and a long lingering finish on the palate.

Arenite Syrah
Arenite refers to one of the major textural sandstone groups present on our farm. Our Syrah is happily rooted in these rocky soils as it is rooted in our history. Made from the same original Syrah clone as its acclaimed predecessor, this Stellenzicht stalwart exudes its origin of excellence.
- Tasting notes: Beautiful rich red and dark fruit along with some hints of all spice. The whole bunch fermentation enlightens the savoury palate that has a lush finish from the coated tannins.
