Early Bird Tickets: The J&B Met is back on 30 January 2016

Think fashion, music, food and the rush of thundering hooves as Cape Town gets ready for its biggest annual outdoor social event.

South Africa’s longest standing horse race and Cape Town’s largest annual outdoor social event is coming to Kenilworth racecourse on Saturday 30 January 2016.

The 2016 J&B™ Met was officially launched at Kenilworth Racecourse yesterday afternoon, providing guests with a sneak peek of what’s to come on January 30th. The event was a resounding success and was well supported by media, stakeholders and local celebrities.

Early Bird Special: Book a ticket before the 9 December and get your second ticket free!

This event has been attracting different South Africans who come together to celebrate the best of fashion, music, food and horseracing since 1977 – A rare blend that still exists today. Celebrating their 39th year as event sponsor, what started off as a small sponsorship for J&B™ is now South Africa’s longest running sports sponsorship and the race itself is now the oldest horserace in the country – A true legacy indeed.

J&B™’s story has always been about the different and the unexpected coming together and creating something rare – the ultimate and original example of this was when an eccentric Italian called Justerini crossed paths with an English gentleman called Brooks to form J&B™. This partnership in itself broke with tradition and shattered the conventions of the day, not only by bringing together 36 malt and 6 grain whiskies to create a truly rare blend of whisky, but also by creating the now distinguished and globally recognisable bright yellow label.

In honour of the brand, its unique heritage and its valued legacy, the theme for the 2016 J&B™ Met is “A Rare Blend”. Those attending next year’s event will be challenged to incorporate A Rare Blend into how they dress on the day. Think different styles, textures or ideas and how you can bring these together to great effect?

J&B™ encourages you to think beyond the norm, to create something different and unexpected and to plan an outfit that is itself a rare blend, made different just like J&B™.

Due to its popularity at this year’s event, the “Racing. It’s a Rush Public Village” will be back in 2016, giving racing fans an opportunity to not only get the best view of the horseracing, but also the front row to some phenomenal entertainment thanks to the “Schweppes Gig Rig in association with Goodhope FM”.
