Storytelling & Connection with JIVE!

People often joke and refer to Cape Town as a “dorp” or a village.

It’s not because of its size, but rather due to the pace at which it moves.

However, the residents of this large village know that when it does move, it moves with generosity. Dotted all over the Western Cape, initiatives, private partnerships, and brands are gearing up to connect, share their stories, and move others when it matters the most.

  • Boxing Day Cup was started in 2016 and hosted its 8th annual golf day in December and each committee member is given the opportunity to select a charity that could benefit from the proceeds raised on the day. This year, Boxing Day Cup decided to support Soil for Life, a charity making a huge difference in the lives of people in their communities.

On December 26th, Boxing Day Cup had raffles, auctions, and other opportunities for the golfers to donate and assist in raising funds for Women of the Soil. The proceeds will be handed over to them in the first week of January 2024.

The money collected will be used to fund and assist women in their continued education, support, and development in gardening. It will also be used to help keep their soup kitchens open and thriving in communities that desperately need assistance.

Thanks to the generous donation from Bev Co, each golfer will receive a goodie bag and a Jive cooldrink. Local businesses can get involved as an opportunity to market their products or services by including business cards or other items in the goodie bag.

Another instance of amazing connection was Jive’s sponsorship of Ek en Jy’s Street Cricket sponsorship in Koringberg, held on December 6. It’s another initiative that brings together a community for a day of youth sports, fun, and community storytelling and sharing.
