The Story of MEMO – a Wine by Val de Vie

His Royal Highness Prince Harry had difficulty staying on his polo pony while playing in the sixth Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Club in 2015. During the event on the polo fields of Val de Vie – the largest one-day charity polo event in the world – the monarch was thrown off twice in one match. To commemorate this feisty pony, called Memo, Val de Vie has created a limited-edition, hand bottled wine.

It was the chukka that became a chucker as polo pony Memo twice unseated HRH Prince Harry in the heat of the match. This delicious, limited edition Chardonnay Pinot Noir blend has a balanced finish – unlike our Royal guest – but is released in homage to a spirited pony and a Prince who’s a jolly good sport.

Memo is a crisp and fresh Chardonnay Pinot Noir blend. The 3-liter ‘Memo’rable wine is the perfect addition to a family feast or a special celebration with friends. The double magnum size bottle holds 16 glasses of wine and has been made to share and enjoy with loved ones.

Serve with chicken, duck, fish, soft cheeses or dishes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine. This modern and versatile wine has aromas of vibrant raspberry and frangipani, perfectly balanced by notes of apple and citrus.

NOSE

Prominent aromas of red fruit, raspberry and frangipani balanced by soft yellow fruit such as apple and warm citrus.

PALATE

Fruity and fresh with well defined notes of citrus – lemon and lime followed again with light red fruit on the aftertaste.

Memo is sold exclusively on Val de Vie Estate at the L’Huguenot Venue & Vinoteque. To place your order contact Barbara Hugo on barbara@lhuguenot.com
