How De Vette Mossel Harties is turning Father’s Day into a Celebration of Prawns, Potjies, and Crayfish Tails

Father’s Day is getting the full De Vette Mossel Harties treatment this year, with not one but two delicious celebrations planned across an entire weekend.

Whether Dad’s idea of the perfect outing involves seafood, slow-roasted lamb, a relaxing drink, or simply spending quality time with family, there’s plenty to look forward to on 20 and 21 June.

The festivities begin on Saturday, 20 June, with a special Surf & Turf Rolling Buffet that adds a unique twist to the traditional De Vette Mossel experience.

  • Guests can enjoy favourites such as potbrood with farm butter and jam, mussels prepared two ways, and West Coast snoek with sweet potato, before moving on to the stars of the show: succulent prawns served with two flavour-packed sauces and lamb roasted on the spit. It’s a feast designed for those who struggle to choose between land and sea and would rather enjoy both.

The celebrations continue on Sunday, 21 June, when Father’s Day takes centre stage.

  • The famous De Vette Mossel menu returns, complete with generous seafood and meat potjies, traditional sides, seasonal fruit, coffee, and koeksisters. To make the occasion even more special, every adult guest will receive a crayfish tail, while dads will be welcomed with a complimentary vanilla brandy and Coke on arrival.

True to the De Vette Mossel spirit, the atmosphere promises to be relaxed, family-friendly, and focused on sharing good food around the table. It’s the perfect excuse to swap ordinary Father’s Day gifts for an experience filled with laughter, conversation, and memorable meals. With limited seating available across both days, early booking is highly recommended. Book here!
